Dear potential participant,
First of all, we want to thank you dearly for your interest in this study. With your participation, you are paying a big contribution to the Master’s program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at our university. Plus, you are helping us take a big step towards better understanding female mental and sexual health.
This study’s goal first and foremost is gaining a broader understanding of the female menstrual cycle and sexuality, especially in terms of sexual dysfunction. Women who menstruate are more often than not overlooked by scientific research because of their hormone levels being ‘irregular’ or ‘unstable’ – even though half of the world’s population has these exact hormone fluctuations. So, our aim with this study is to look at women’s sexuality over the course of their cycles and research whether or not hormone levels might correlate with sexual symptoms like libido, pain et cetera. The study will take a cycle’s length (28-32 days) of data from daily and weekly questionnaires and basal temperature. Thus, you will be eligible to participate only if you own or are willing to purchase a basal thermometer.
